The day after I was falsely arrested for failure to identify (Penal Code 195.05) despite having called 911 to report the criminal activity of the police (civil rights violations, which are a crime) and providing my full legal name, as well as drivers license number (which is more than sufficient for a reasonable person to write me a citation, invalidating probable cause for the arrest); I emailed the court clerk in regards to my rights being violated, received a response, responded back given it was apparent that my whole email wasn't read, received a response, and then emailed the city attorney in regards to my rights being violated. I was a little upset given the police impounded the rental vehicle, I was advised that it may be possible to get the vehicle from the impound lot by the police, but maybe not given the time of night...called the tow company and was informed that the vehicle could only be released to the rental company, called the rental company whom advised that they couldn't get somebody there that night, and that they would have somebody there the following day to retrieve the vehicle and release it to me...which (given my phones were in the vehicle as I was using a business phone and some local citizens phone to make the calls) left me stranded 46 miles away from home without my phones to contact my friends or family...and hence had to spend the night wondering town until the morning. The tow company released the phones to me in the morning with some persuasion, but then I waited for the rental company to retrieve the vehicle as they said they would only to be told by the towing company that it usually takes the rental company days to pickup the vehicle.
At that point I called the rental company again, which affirmed what the towing company said...and now I was up for 24 hours with no sleep, stranded 46 miles away from home, my stuff still in the vehicle which wasn't being released to me, but at least now I had my phones and could make calls and contact people. The prior night, I was able to use a local citizens phone to access my facebook account to send a general distress signal...advising I didn't have my phones etc...so I noticed I had a few calls (yeah...) and some facebook messages that I responded to, but likewise sent out another SOS stating I was still stranded and needed somebody to pick me up. While waiting for my brother to pick me up, I was able to convince the towing company to release my possessions from the vehicle, and per request...left to a nearby school where I sat on the bleachers waiting for my brother to arrive hours later.
While waiting, I sent the emails to the court clerk, and the city attorney...at which point I was up beyond 24 hours, extremely tired, and definitely not a happy camper...despite trying to be cheerful and thinking it was funny still to a degree...but then concerned about my livelihood and ability to earn a living given I knew I wouldn't be able to rent a vehicle from the company until the situation was resolved with the impound lot. Thoughts that I would be forced to sue the city in order to support myself came to mind, but even at this point...I'm not going to get an attorney and sue the city...it violates the principle of doing good to those that harm and persecute me.
I did, however, indicate that I had intent to sue, as well as file charges against the police with the court clerk for my civil rights being violated, was advised to file a complaint with the police (yeah, we see how much the PD was listening in the videos, so that was a no bueno), or to contact an attorney. I emailed the city attorney requesting their oath of offices, advising of my civil rights being violated, and gave it some time for a response. I did email the city attorney a second time advising of a plea offer that suits my Christian principles; likewise not receiving a response. After 10 days of not receiving a response...I filed my first complaint with the Federal Division of Civil Rights, as it was apparent that the City wasn't going to take responsibility for their actions.
